Mom's Pick!

I fell in love with this older Stampendous Set because of the arm stamp. I love flowers, but this just gives them a little different perspective. It's a simple design colored with Copics. Thanks for stopping by my blog today!

Technique Tuesday Heartfelt Thanks

Before I put my heart stamp away, I had to make just one more card. This one uses a sentiment stamp from I hope it will be used by someone in my church to encourage someone else. Thanks for stopping by my blog today!

Heartfelt Thanks for Freshly Made Sketches 268

Making Christmas Cards was great, but I'm ready to move on. So today I pulled out a heart, intending to make a Valentine's Day looking card. But when I colored the heart, I got this! It's a really different look, and maybe not clean enough looking, but since I made it for Freshly Made Sketches, in it goes. Here's the direct link to their challenge. I really like the challenge to make a square card. It seems to have a lot more pop. Thanks for the inspiration Jen over at FMS!

Sweet Mini Christmas Wishes

I made these little cards to go on the front of an envelope. The paper is a Martha Stewart pattern and I simply punched out the candies and adhered them with dimensionals. The sentiment is from My Favorite Things called "Sweet Birthday Wishes." I love having the ability to made these little cards in any size I need, and with cute matching little envelopes. Gender Neutral Spanish Birthday Card

I'm still making cards for my friend up north and I'm having a lot of fun with Spanish Stamps. I'm learning a lot too. My first version of this said, "Happy Day Birthday."

Now that I got the sentiment, from Stampendous called "Spanish Messages" right, I paired it with Stampin' Up!'s "Boutique Borders." I stamped it in Memento Tuxedo Black and colored it with Copics YG06, B24 and Y15. Paper is SU!'s Daffodil Delight and Papertrey's Blueberry Sky.

Pink Confetti "Thinking of You" Card

I made this card using little bits of patterned paper punched with a 1" punch, misc. flowers, brads and sequins. The base is 110# white card stock brushed with Memento Angel Pink in the center. The sentiment is "A Blossom" from CTMH stamped in SU! Rose Red.

Holly Christmas Wishes

I picked up this holly set at a yard sale today for .75 cents! I love the faded edges of the stamps. And even though it's just a single layer card, I'm pleased with how it turned out. One lesss Christmas card to make this year!

Freshly Made Sketches Challenge #262

I love Jen B.'s simple yet elegant sketch from Freshly Made Sketches. I tried my best to keep it "clean" by  embossing one sheet of card stock with a Darice folder and layering it with dimensionals over a second sheet of white card stock.

The holly is from the CTMH set called "A Holiday" and the berry sentiment is from MSE!'s set called "True Meaning Tags." The inks are Love Letter and Cottage Ivy, bothe from Memento. I find that SU! Inks are often too thick when fine details are involved, but they're great when you need a strong solid stamped image. Real Red card stock is from SU!

Red, Green & Blushing Bride Card

The DSP for this card is from the Stampim' Up! Pad called Love Blossoms. The sentiment is frim Verve's set called New Mercies. It's accented with Blushing Bride Chevron Ribbon by SU! I attached it with hot glue, folding it as I went along.

Thanks for stopping by today!

Trust In The Lord in Oranges

I had this die cut leftover along with the butterflies, and didn't want to throw it away. I came up with this combination of flowers from the Stampin' Up! set called Creative Elements. The die and Bible verse stamp is from Papertrey Ink. The patterned paper is from a two seperate small paper stack pads.

Number of Years Masculine Birthday Card

My son turns 20 in two days! Wow! Anyway, I needed a special card and this is what I came up with. I turned it into a masculine card by using darker colors, but I had to sneak a little Tangerine Tango in there to liven it up a little.

It seemed to need a little something, but embellishments are usually so girly (and fun)! But that wouldn't do here. So the key seemed to fill up the blank space nicely.

I really like the way it turned out, and hopefully he will too!

Embossed Flower Card

I like the final look of this card, but it seemed difficult to get to the final product. The idea started with a card on Pinterest, but because I didn't have all the supplies, I got this!

The flowers are die cut from a Sizzix Bigz Die, then embossed with various folders. The burlap is from a paper pad, and the sentiment is from Stampin' Up!

Stampin' Up! Botanical Builder Card

I needed to create somthing tonight, but couldn't get the creativity going. So I turned to Pinterest and copied this great card. The reversible Botanical DSP made it so easy too. The pinner used a button, but I thought the flower would make a better statement. The sentiment is from Hobby Lobby.

Dressed-Up Gift Bag

Here's a gift bag I made to give away a set of fifteen handmade cards. The bag was only a dollar or so and I dressed it up with a handmade glitter paper bow using a die from Brenda Walton's Sizzix line. The tag is made from Avery Elle's "Comfort and Joy" and Rubber Stamp Tapestry's "Winter Garland."

I really like how it spruced up this simple bag, and I look forward to doing more bags for Christmas!

Winter Garland Christmas Card

Rubber Stamp Tapestry's Peg Stamps are so much fun to use. I love the flexibility of being able to make borders, straight lines, or all over designs like I did here. This set is called Winter Garland.

The sentiment is from CTMH's A Holiday. The dies are cut from Sizzix "Strawberry Rose Jelly Spools."

This card completes a set of 15 that I am making for a cowoker. And all before Halloween!

This Christmas card was made using a miscellaneous poinsettia stamp I bought on ebay. It's colored with Copics YG11, YG67, R22, R24, R29, and Y13. The sentiment is from Lawn Fawn's Merry Messages.

The background is embossed with a Darice folder. On the Garden Green card stock is  paper lace from Stampin' Up! Circles and scallop circles are die cut using Spellbinders.

Pink Christmas Whimsy

I made this card for Challenge 259 over at Freshly Made Sketches. I knew I wanted to do something whimsical, and when I had bot pink and green dotted paper, I thought I would give something different a try.

The stamps are from Avery Elle's set called Chalet. The dotted paper is from Michaels. Copics are Y35, Y13, B00, R29, YG06, E97 and one Tombow 743. Stardust Stickles were used for the snow.

My thanks to Linda and everyone at Freshly Made Sketches for such a cute sketch!

Stamp, Ink, Paper Challenge #70

When I saw this Tic-Tac-Toe over at Stamp, Ink, Paper I knew just the stamp set I wanted to use. I bought this adorable Lawn Fawn called Trick or Treat with the idea of making for a kids party at church-until I found out they expected 500 kids! So I made this card for my parents instead.

The Tic-Tac-Toe I chose were all
the ones on the right: Patterned Paper,
Black and Punch or Die Cut.

The paper is from Lawn Fawn's
Polka in the Dark. I used a large
dotted embossing folder and a 1.25"
punch for the moon.

Copic colors are YR04,Y15, W3
and W5.

Thanks to Lisa and Sandy over at SIP for
another great challenge. And I'm sure my
parents will thank you too!

When I first saw this challenge over at The Paper Players, I instantly thought fall. But needing some Christmas cards for a co-worker, this came to my mind.

The leaves are from the Stampin' Up! Set "Lighthearted Leaves." The sentiment is from Lawn Fawn's
"Merry Messages."

Copic markers are YG06, YG17, Y35, R29 and R22.

Thanks to The Paper Players for a great challenge, and thanks for stopping by my blog today!

Joyful Cardinal Christmas Card

I love this set, but making thus card made me think I really could use a Misti!

The set is frim Stampin' Up! Called Joyful Season. I used Memento Love Letter ink and SU! Cherry Cobbler and Soft Suede ink and card stock. The card base is embossed with SU!'s Woodland Embossing Folder.

Miscellaneous markers filled in the bird and Crystal Elements were used to make the berries pop.

Thanks for stopping by today!

Fab Friday 98 Challenge

Fab Friday has a great fall-inspirchallenge this week.
I just love the colors, and since I don't have a
need right now for a Halloween card, I thought they
would also make a great fall floral card.

The stamp set from Stampin' Up! is called So Very
Grateful. The card base is 110# white stock with
Old Olive and Pumpkin Pie trim. The Old Olive is
embossed with SU!'s Square Lattice embossing

For the inks I used Copic Markers in G94, YR18, YR04, YR12 and BV13. Ink is SU!'s Pumpkin Pie and Memento's Tuxedo Black.

Retro Rubber & Sunday Stamps Challenges

Once again I've created a unique card that I would have never made without the help of challenges!

When I saw this color combo called 'Happy Colors' (SSC135) on Sunday Stamps, I instantly loved it. How fun to put a pop of pink in the mix. My first thought was "flowers." And I love Retro Rubber Challenges because I have so many great older stamps that I still love to use. Challenge #47 was 'Anything Goes" so combining the two I came up with this card.

I used a ton of different inks:

SU! Bermuda Bay
SU! Island Indigo
SU! Pacific Point
SU! Tempting Turquoise
Memento Bahama Blue
Memento Teal Zeal
Memento Dandelion
Papertrey Aqua Mist
Papertrey Hawaiian Shores

The flowers are from Stamping' Up!' called Flower Fancy. The set dates back to 2008.

The sentiment is from Avery Elle.

Freshly Made Sketches Challenge #252

I love this great sketch from Freshly Made Sketches, and needing some more Christmas Cards, came up with this idea. The Window Die is from Tim Holtz, which is a little bigger than the Stampin' Up!'s. The "snowy" paper is from Me & My Big Ideas. The Snowflake Stamp is from Hampton Arts and punched with a SU! Scallop Punch.  I used Pacific Point paper and ink.

This card is one that someone is actually buying from me, and I think she'll really like it. She ordered an assortment, and it's nice to get one that isn't red and green. Now I wished I had just put "Happy Holidays" instead of "Merry Christmas" so it could be more versatile. Oh well, next time!

Stamp, Ink, Paper Challenge 64 "Clean & Simple"

This card was made for the "Clean & Simple" Challenge over at Stamp, Ink, Papers. I often find these challenges the most difficult. It seems easier to put a lot of stuff on a card and just "keep going." But needing some masculine sympathy cards, this challenge was perfect.

For this simple card I used a Speckletone Card Stock for the base where I stamped a leaf from Stampin' Up!'s Vintage Leaves using Chocolate Chip ink.  I then used the coordinating die to cut the Delightful Dijon paper. The sentiment is from a CTMH set called  "A Blossom" (A1121). I attached that panel with dimensionals.

I should make more Clean & Simple Cards! Thanks for stopping by today!

Two Banner Challenges

It feels a little like cheating this week because both Try Stampin' On Tuesday and Sunday Stamps both have weekly challenges that call for banners. Here's the layout for each:

The windsor chair stamp is from a Sizzix Set 659086 that has chairs and dies all in one set. I was lucky enough to find it at Tuesday Morning for a pretty good price. For the banner and sentiment I had to resort to computer-generated images. The font, which I really love for this project is called "Klee." It seems very relaxing.

I chose the paper because I thought it looked like old-fashioned wallpaper. It's actually dark blue and it's from the Betsy's Couture Collection from Kaisercraft.

Thanks for stopping by, and thanks to both Try Stampin' On Tuesday and Sunday Stamps for some great inspiration!

Try Stampin' On Tuesday Challenge #285

I just love this week's  design from Try Stampin' on Tuesday!

It was so fun to work with and gave me a chance to use some of my patterned papers that I love.

The stamps are from Stampin' Up's "By The Tide" set. Ink is Memento's Morocco and
Desert Sand and SU!'s Night of Navy.

Patterned paper is from Graphic 45.Embossing folder is from Darice.

Try Stampin' on Tuesday Challenge #283

I feel I've deviated quite a bit from the sketch here from Try Stampin' on Tuesday's Challenge #283. I wanted something in the shape of a circle and found this set from Neat & Tangled called "Hand Stitched." Having cross-stitched a lot in the past, I really loved this set.

Other items used are:

SU! Blushing Bride Card Stock
Unknown Green Card Stock
SU! Blushing Bride Bakers Twine
SU! Dimensionals
Copics: R21, R22, R24, YG03, YG17, Y35

Thanks for stopping by!

Fab Friday 93 Challenge

This is one card I would have never come up with without a challenge. I'm so glad I took the challenge over at Fab Friday. Their challenge sketch is this:

My only flourish seemed too big for this, so I went with a stem from "Betsy's Blossom's" by Stampin' Up! The sentiment is from Avery Elle's "Cake & Candles." The dies are called "Layered Treat Tag" and are from Die-namics. I used Bermuda Bay card stock and ink and Papertrey Aqua Mist card stock and ink. Doily is from Stampin' Up! Sequins are from Walmart and the embossing folder is from Darice.

I was really stretched with this card and I loved every minute of it. Thanks Fab Friday for another great challenge!

Retro Rubber Challenge 44

Challenge #44 (RRCB44) over at Retro Rubber Challenge Blog was to use Lime Green, Aqua Blue and a Neutral. I don't think that my Cucumber Crush is exactly Lime Green, but it's close. The other color is Temping Turquoise, both from Stampin' Up!

This card is made using a basketweave technique. The basket strips are made using Stampin' Up!'s Paisley Party Wheel, which was featured in the Holiday 2010 catalog. In order to give it more depth, I used Stampin' Up's Dimensionals.

The sentiment is from Close To My Heart's C1257 Happy Birthday Set. It's from 2009.

The flowers and brad are from Michaels. Base card stock is Temping Turquoise from Stampin' Up!

Thanks again to the girls over at Retro Rubber for helping me pull out some older stamps. I love wheels, but haven't used them in quite a while.

Try Stampin' on Tuesday: Challenge #282

For this cute card I used Taylored Expressions Big Delivery Stamp Set and Stampin' Up's Kinda Eclectic. The road is just a strip of black paper that I colored with a white gel pen. Markers are Copics and ink is from Memento.

The layout from Try Stampin' on Tuesday is this:

I had to pass on the challenges options to add a holiday theme or beads, as I really need some masculine birthday cards for my stash.

Thanks to everyone over at that website for giving me some great inspiration this morning.
